Description
Embark on an exhilarating 3-day trekking adventure up Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania. This trek offers breathtaking views, diverse wildlife encounters, and a thrilling climb through lush forests and open grasslands.
On day one, begin your trek with a guided walk through Arusha National Park, where you may encounter giraffes, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys. Camp overnight at Miriakamba Hut. On day two, ascend to Saddle Hut while enjoying stunning vistas and the unique flora of Mount Meru. After a hearty meal, prepare for a nighttime summit attempt.
On the final day, summit Mount Meru before dawn to witness an unforgettable sunrise over Kilimanjaro, then descend back to Miriakamba Hut and finally return to Arusha.

Day 1 Arrival and Trek to Miriakamba Hut
Your trekking adventure begins with a drive from Arusha to the Momella Gate of Arusha National Park. After completing registration, you will start your trek accompanied by an armed ranger to ensure safety.
The trail takes you through dense forests teeming with wildlife, such as colobus monkeys and various bird species. Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) for dinner and an overnight stay, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the mountain.
Day 2 Trek to Saddle Hut and Optional Little like Meru
After breakfast, begin your trek to Saddle Hut (3,570 meters). The trail becomes steeper as you ascend, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Upon reaching Saddle Hut, enjoy some rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to take a short hike to Little Meru (3,820 meters) for stunning sunset views. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 3 Summit ascent and Descend to Momella Gate
Your final day starts early with a midnight departure for the summit. Trek under the starlit sky to Rhino Point (3,800 meters) and continue to the summit of Mount Meru at Socialist Peak (4,566 meters).
Witness the sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains, creating a truly unforgettable experience. Afterward, descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast, and then continue to Momella Gate, where your adventure concludes. Return to Arusha with lasting memories of your Mount Meru Trekking experience.
