3Days 2 Nights Mikumi National Park

Description

Mikumi National Park is located 300 km from Dar es Salaam and is the fifth largest National Park in Tanzania. The park is one ecosystem with Nyerere National Park (before Selous G. R.) and therefore elephants, buffalos and zebras are migrating to and from the northern part of Mikumi N. P.

The grass savannas of the Mkata Floodplains in the northwestern part of the park can be compared to those of the Serengeti. The southern depressions form water courses which flow to Mkata River and supporting large population of wildlife including buffalo, wild dog, eland, elephant, giraffe, hartebeest, zebra, leopard, lion, impala, sable antelope, warthog, waterbuck, wildebeest, and greater kudu. Yellow baboons, impala and reedbuck are commonly seen at Kisungura area along the Mkata River.

The Park habitat is also among one of the richest in the world for residence and migratory birds. More than 400 species of birds have been observed in this park.

Day 1 Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

In the Morning after breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel or your place you stay and drive to Mikumi National Park, where you will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch we will do a game drive in the national park until sunset.
Meal plan:  lunch, dinner
, Vamos Hotel/Bastian Lodge.

Day 2 Game drive at Mikumi National Park

After breakfast you will have a full day game drive with a stop at one of the picnic areas in the park where you can enjoy your picnic lunch combined with the beauty of nature. In the park you see Giraffe,Zebra, Buffalo,Lion,Watchdog, Wildebeest,Hyena  Hippos and crocodile.
Meal plan: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner at Vamos Hotel/Bastion Lodge.

Day 3 Travel bac from Mikumi back to Dar Es Salaam

Early morning breakfast, you leave the lodge for another game drive to the two water holes “Mkata” and “Chamgore”. These water holes offer a good opportunity for game viewing as animals are attracted to these water holes. Apart from the saddle-bill stork, hammer kop and malachite kingfisher, you will also find there monitor lizards and pythons inhabiting the pools. Afternoon drive back to Dar es Salaam with a stop for lunch in Morogoro town, then you proceed directly to the agreed drop off point in Dar es Salaam.
