Best Time to Visit
The Southern Circuit can be visited any time of the year, but certain months offer especially good wildlife experiences:
Dry Season (June – October)
- This is generally the best time for game viewing as animals gather around rivers and waterholes, making wildlife easier to spot.
- Days are mostly sunny and warm with excellent visibility.
Shoulder Months (January – March)
- Wildlife is still abundant, the landscape is lush and green, and there are fewer visitors, offering a more private safari experience.
Rainy Season (April – May)
- Heavy rains can make some roads difficult, and travel may be slowed. However, this season features very striking scenery and is ideal for birdwatchers.
For the best balance of wildlife sightings and comfortable travel, June to October is often considered ideal for the Southern Circuit.
