Day 1 Dar es salaam to Mikumi National Park
Depart at 5:30 a.m. from Dar es Salaam via Morogoro and Chalinze with picnic lunch pack. Continue with drive to Mikumi and after 5 or 6 hours you will come across several animals that may include lions, elands, hartebeest, buffalos, wildebeest, giraffe, zebras, elephants, wild dogs and many species of birds. Proceeding with game drive, viewing at Mikumi national park you will see multiple species of animals and birds, and due to its Savannah plain animals in Mikumi are easily accessed and it takes only 4 to 5 hours to finish a game. Dinner and overnight at Bastian camp just outside Mikumi National Park.
Day 2 Maasai Culture at Mikumi then drive to Nyerere National Park
After breakfast and cultural visit of the Maasai at around 0900hrs we drive to Nyerere National park and it will take 7 to 8 hours. You will have picnic lunch on the way and the journey will take us through the most unexplored and untouched areas to amaze you. Dinner and overnight will be at African safari camp.
Day 3 Nyerere NP Game Drive and Boat Safari
The day will be spent on game viewing in the park and in the evening you will experience a boat trip for 2 to 3 hours in the Rufiji River. The safari guide will point out rarest species of animals Wild Dogs which are hardly seen in the Parks, Sable antelopes, black rhinoceros, Nile crocodile, hippopotamus along the banks of the Rufiji River, Cape buffalo, hartebeest and Eland. Picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the wilderness before heading back to camp for dinner and overnight to the gentle grunting of the Camp. Boat Safaris are also the best excursions for bird enthusiasts.
Nyerere National park which was previously known as Selous Game Reserve has over 350 bird species, and the river is the place where they congregate in great numbers and are easily seen in the open environment. You might also want to try your luck with the ferocious tiger fish, and weighty catfish that live in the waters in abundance. Dinner and overnight will be at African safari camp
Day 4 Walking Safari at Nyerere national Park and Drive back to Dar es Salaam
Earl Morning breakfast at the camp and start a sunrise bush walking. Walking safaris are a fantastic way to get close to nature and learn more about the smaller species and the bush itself. It’s an unforgettable experience to walk and tramp within such a vast and untamed area of natural. The walks take about 2-3 hours long. Usually walks leave camp at 6:00AM-6:30 AM after having a cup of tea and some homemade biscuits or doughnut.
After walking we shall start the drive to Dar es Salaam or take a boat to Zanzibar.
