Description
The Nyerere and Mikumi Safari offers a classic wildlife experience in Tanzania’s Eastern Zone. Unlike the crowded northern parks, this safari gives you a quieter and more authentic adventure. From the very beginning, we focus on delivering real African wilderness experiences.
This journey starts and ends in Dar es Salaam. From there, we drive you into the vast Nyerere National Park ecosystem and later to Mikumi National Park. As a result, you explore two unique landscapes in one short safari. These parks remain less crowded; therefore, you enjoy peaceful game drives and uninterrupted wildlife viewing.
You will see lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and leopards. In addition, you may encounter hippos and crocodiles near rivers. The landscapes vary from open savannah to riverine forests. Because of this diversity, every game drive feels different and exciting.

Best Time to Visit for a Nyerere and Mikumi Safari
You can visit this safari all year. However, certain seasons offer better conditions.
Dry Season (June – October)
This is the best time for wildlife viewing. During this period, animals gather near water sources. As a result, you can spot them more easily. The weather stays sunny and visibility remains excellent.
Shoulder Season (January – March)
Wildlife remains abundant. In addition, the landscape turns green and vibrant. Because fewer tourists travel at this time, you enjoy a more private safari experience.
Rainy Season (April – May)
Heavy rains may slow travel. Nevertheless, the scenery becomes dramatic and beautiful. Birdwatchers especially benefit during this season because migratory species arrive.
Overall, June to October offers the best balance between comfort and wildlife sightings.
